This flywheel came with my car when I purchased it. Since I have not been able to locate any of the previous owners.... (Pat Pardi of Cincinatti, Ohio - where are you now??) ....I have no idea who performed the work, but judging by the machining profile used, I feel it was done with safety in mind. The material was removed from the face, while making sure there was enough thickness to assure there would be enough strength to hold it all together at high revolutions.

This is the freshly ground clutch side, ready for assembly. Due to the extended period of time this flywheel sat around exposed to the elements, I had it reground at South Bend Clutch, where they also bebuilt the clutch using asbestos.
Extra care will need to be taken whenever the time comes to get into the bell housing a long time from now, but other than $kevlar$, there is no good substitute for asbestos clutch material.
