This Austin-Healey 100-4 is one of six coupes built between 1954 and 1956 by Coachbuilder D'Ieteren in Belgium, immediately after delivery from the factory at Longbridge, UK. These cars were modified for Junior GT Racing in Francorchamps, Belgium, which at that time changed the regulations allowing only coupes or roadsters with roll-bars to race.
This is the first of those cars to be converted and thus became a bit more civilized with roll-up windows. The cars built afterward were built with more racing accommodations. It is interesting to see that the builder used very revolutionary materials for those days such as plexiglass for the rear window. The engine and gearbox are standard.
You can read more about this car in the November and December 2002 issue's of Austin-Healey Magazine, the magazine of the Austin Healey Club USA.
